If you are looking for a way to learn self defense without having to attend a course, a self defense manual can help you learn how to defend yourself from the privacy of your own home.
Many people are so very busy with their daily lives it is very hard to try to take a class even once a week. You may want to go to the library and see what types of manuals they offer for check out. This is a free way to learn some essential self defense moves. Many manuals offer some of the same moves, but you may want to consult more than one to find out if there is a move that you are more comfortable with.
You may also want to go to a bookstore or look online to find a manual. This will be something that you can write in if you want and it will be yours forever, so you can reference it as often as you like. You may also want to purchase a couple different manuals so you can have more options of moves.
If you do not like to read and need a more three dimensional form, a video manual may be a perfect alternative. You can watch a video and learn moves as if you attended a class, but you can do it at home, whenever you wish.
Another free or low cost way to gain more self defense knowledge is to view video clips on the internet. You can do this in very short increments if you are extremely busy and you can learn one move at a time.
