Self Defense Tip #1

Scream “NO!” and “CALL 911!” so bystanders know you are in serious danger.

If the attacker grabs you from behind, move your hips to one side and swing your elbow directly into the attacker’s groin.

Bash his face with the back of your head.  It’ll hurt him way more than it hurts you.

If your attacker has you in a rear choke hold, turn your chin towards their elbow and press down to relieve the pressure on your windpipe so you can remain conscious and fighting.

Don’t hesitate to use your mace or pepper spray.  Any moment of hesitation gives your attacker the chance to take it and use it on you.

Practice with your mace or pepper spray first.  Aim it at eye level at a tree from various distances until you are comfortable hitting your target.

You may have easy weapons already on your person.  Keys, pens, umbrellas, even canned food from your grocery bag can be used in self defense.  The general rule is, jab at the soft parts of the body, like the eyes or stomach, with pointy things like pens and keys, and bash at the hard parts of the body, like the head or knees, with hard things like a can of food.
